In the late 1970s—while disco filled dancefloors and punk rattled the streets—an obscure Parisian quartet named The Hidden Frequencies quietly crafted one of the most elusive gems of the French underground. Blending progressive rock, psychedelic jazz, early ambient fusion, and subtle brass-driven soundscapes, they forged a style suspended between dream and experimentation.

Recorded on analog tape at the now-vanished Studio Mirage in Autumn 1978, the album captures a time when DIY electronics, homemade effects, vintage synths, and improvised gear shaped new sonic frontiers.
Warm Rhodes layers, cosmic ARP Odyssey sweeps, fuzzy guitars, hypnotic bass motifs, and expressive sax–trumpet passages drift together into a sound both ancient and futuristic.

For decades, only a handful of test pressings survived—after a fire destroyed most of the studio’s archive in the early 80s. Their rediscovery by crate diggers brought Another Reality back into the light, reviving interest in France’s forgotten experimental scene.

Today, the album is considered a cult cornerstone of European cosmic psych-fusion.
