I've heard this played as both a fling and a reel, I play it as a fling. My version is in A( G capo 2).
Some chords:
Capo 2: G |G D |G |D G :|| G |G D(or C?) |G |D G |G |G D |C G |D ||
One strange thing I've noticed about ''A'' tunes is the number of times I've come across quite accomplished guitar backers who, for reasons I've never understood, put in an F chord when capoing 2(or G chord no capo). The other thing you might try is playing the D chord with an F# bass note. The F# can be found on the second fret of the sixth string.
