Driving from Schwyz (Seewen) to Altdorf (Canton Uri) over the dangerous Axenstrasse. Enjoy a road trip along the Urnersee (Lake of Uri, part of Lake Lucerne) with spectacular views of the Swiss mountains.
The Axenstrasse runs along the eastern shore of the Lake of Uri. Natural hazards such as falling rocks and traffic accidents make the road, which has been blasted into the steep rock, one of the most dangerous in Switzerland.
