Tailwheel Training Day: Grass Strip Practice & One Really Jumpy Landing!

Today I take my vintage Piper Pacer out for a full tailwheel training session, starting at my home base in Speyer (EDRY) and heading to the grass airfield Bruchsal (EDTC) for some landing practice.
Grass strips are great for improving tailwheel technique, so I spent the afternoon working on approaches, flare timing, and smooth touchdowns.
On the way back to Speyer I switched from grass to the asphalt runway — and that’s where things got interesting. I had one really bad, jumpy landing that I break down in detail. Not proud of it, but that’s what this channel is about: honest tailwheel flying, real mistakes, and learning from them.
