Thank you Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) @ Rhode Island School of Design for hosting the first break into UX event at RISD campus.
We have our speaker Shang (Amazon/kickoff) first to share about how to transition from Industrial design to UX. He shared self-taught experiences alongside how to get work experience in school.
We than had our main speaker Leon (Amazon/Google internship) share about 2023 UX recruitment timeline, how to transition from an art/visual background to interaction design to UX. He shared how to work part-time with school, alongside how to think outside of the box and work on your personal branding.
Finally, we concluded with speaker Hannah (Epic Games/Xbox microsoft), who shared life as a game metaphor to help students find their own voice in UX design.
Our UXGO speakers had a blast. We hope the event has been informative, inspiring, and helpful to show how different designers can transition into the UX field.
