Dismounted cavalry

One of the reenactors had a rolling block carbine, probably a Burnside, that he was using. This was a weapon that was fairly uncommon overall but more common in the cavalry as it used brass cartridges which allowed for easy reloading from horseback. Quite interesting if you compare fire rates of him (foreground) and the man in the background who is using a muzzle loaded carbine (And not ramming a ball home so actually firing faster then he would have been able to) in the background.
