I can finally demonstrate how I use the combination of a pulley hoist and a 3 piece Reflectix insulating setup. It held the temperature great. And following the strike water volume of 9 gallons allowed me to do no sparge BIAB. I had almost the exact pre-boil volume I needed. Using a Hanna Instruments PH and Temp probe unit also gave me awesome feedback to the temperature and PH in the mash. My strike water was a little too hot because in the past I couldn't trust the thermometer on the kettle. Next time I'm dough in exactly what brewer's friend says. Getting to trust your equipment is crucial to consistently good beer.
