HI, this is round 3 of your lawn care program. We will be applying a granular fertilizer and spot spraying for any weeds that have popped up.
If you just started service with us we will also be adding a pre-emergent to help with summer weeds.
Please keep pets and children off of the lawn until dry, about 2 hours. Lawn should be watered as soon as possible after that to start dissolving the fertilizer into the ground so it can start working.
One of the most common questions we get is "why dont we blanket the entire lawn with weed killer every visit?'
The answer is Broadleaf Herbicides are known as a post emergent ,which means it will only kill weeds with which it makes contact if you only have a few weeds there is no need to blanket the entire lawn.
Pre emergent herbicides,like crabgrass preventers, act on newly emerging grassy weed seeds in their very early stages.

Post emergent herbicides unfortunately do not act on weeds or weed seeds that are still in the ground when we treat., Herbicides only work when it contacts the leafy part of the actively growing weed.
This is why you will commonly have a few weeds pop up even after we have treated the lawn.
Weeds can come from many places, Weed seeds move from one lawn to another by wind, rain,mowers, birds and other animals. You always have millions of weed seeds in your soil at any given time ready to sprout. That is why we recommend a year round program that will keep weeds under control. No program or Company can completely eliminate weeds but we can certainly keep them under control, hence the term "weed control".
Some weeds can be more difficult to get rid of than others and may require 2-3 seasons to completely eliminate, Lawn care treatments are not a one and done deal. Many variables affect the outcome of a program or even of a single treatment.
