State of Decay 2 - I should have just left this alone

So this group of bandits have been in the area for way too long and I halted my attacks on the plague hearts to go deal with them... yeah, I should have just stuck with the plague hearts. I drive over to the location on the map to go to, which once there would tell you a new location, the actually place they are hiding out in, but for a first time ever, this place was a trap, the shed was infested, but I had no clue, no idea at all since the infestation icon was covered by the one that was a clue for the bandit hideout, and when I turned the corner with my little car I ran into a bloater that was so conveniently waiting there (usually they are inside, so my guess, the game put it there moments before knowing I was going to drive around that corner of the shed). I didn't have enough sped to throw myself from the car so I got out way too slow, but thankfully not dead, just infected, but the feral that was chasing my car caught up to me and I had to deal with that too.
So I fled from the feral (and zombies), climbed atop a container, killed the feral with my crossbow, went back to my car and drove back to my outpost to deal with the damages. I went back out, this time to the actual bandit hideout. I figured I'd do what I do when I need to kill bad guys that are inside a shed, lure them out, then park my car against the corner and opened shed door and go inside. Well, one jerk refused to come out, was just running in circles inside, so I went in, killed him with a few good clobberings, and after some moments of trying to get zombies to come over they finally do to attack the other two bandits that are outside of the shed. I went into my map screen and whatnot, feeling way too confident that it'll all be over soon for them. But something odd happened, somehow the NPCs, which usually don't have the intelligence to close and reopen a door that I've used as a barrier with car, well, suddenly they and zombies were in the shed and I was in some serious danger. I panicked and got in my car.
I should have fled or at least circled around and came back, but instead do some really crappy attempts at running them over with zombie chasing my car. I lined my car up with one bandit that was in front of me, was going to sped forward and run her over but she went around the shed and the zombie jumped onto my hood. I was going to zoom forward and try to scrape it off, but I pressed the wrong key and accidentally got out of the car, passenger side, tried to get back in and got blasted by a bloater gas grenade that I didn't realize one of the bandits had. Game over.
This one felt like a combo of the game doing what it could to mess me over, plus my own stubborn stupidity. And with this death, makes my third failed attempt in a row in Providence Ridge. I've done beat it in the past, years ago when I had a laptop that could run the game better, but only recently started trying this map again on my current computer and just not doing well at all.
Most of the time if I lose is because the game set me up with some dangerous glitches, but lately I've had not only those but my own self. Thinking I may be getting tired of the game, it is really frustrating with all the glitches and cheap stuff, and the low framerate due to my computer not being able to handle it makes it difficult to control and messes up the eyes, plus I usually get several crashes per game, and the game with its limitations can get monotonous after a time. Though I was hoping to at least beat Providence Ridge again since it's been so long since I have, but I may have to pass on it for now, I'm all zombied out.
