When removing the motors, you will feel when it bottoms out at the minimum lift position. Do not overshoot it.
When installing them, turn the allen key until the motor is sitting flush with the valve cover mount. Using the allen key for both procedures has the lowest chance of damaging the eccentric shaft.
I believe there is a removal procedure in ISTA that sets them to minimum lift but I felt more comfortable feeling it in that position mechanically.
There are 2 rubber o-rings that go between the motors and the valve cover mount, be sure to order those before reinstalling, else they may leak oil.
