Tugboat Hitch - How to Tie the Tugboat Hitch - Fast Easy and secure.
I would like to thank John from Marlinespike sailor's Guild for showing me this particular knot.
The Tugboat Hitch is so easy to tie and also easy to untie when there is a load on the rope. This hitch can also be made more secure if desired by adding a couple of half hitches or a slipped hitch at the end.
This knot is also known as the Lighterman's Hitch, but my understanding is that the Lighterman's Hitch actually start with a round turn around the post.
The Tugboat Hitch is also sometimes used by Bushrcraft people as a starting knot for a tarpaulin.
