Hєяє Wє Sтαи∂ | Rᴀᴄᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ Eᴅɢᴇ ♯4

Whew, after 3 weeks of Race To the Edge Season 4 I finally have my traditional highlight video of it finished. (And to think I made the first 2 within the weekend they were released.) Geesh, I've lost the magic touch).

In my own defense, this vid IS the longest of the 4 RTTE reels, but I wanted to include as much as possible cause it was SOOO GOOD!! Astrid pun Thank you all for being patient with me....at least 5 different people messaged me when/if I was going to finish it, lol!

You know, each season seemed to get better and better, but this season was by far THE BEST with the episodes OVERALL*. Yes, the action, the filler eps, THE SUNSETS, the characters, the humor, the parallels, the FEELS!! But it just felt like there was a greater display of camaraderie among the gang & their dragons - take that group hug at the end, or the way the dragons had enough of their sleep deprived riders and dumped em in a dark pit to sleep, lol! *d'aww

Plus the one-on-one relationships like: Hiccup & Tuff on Gruff around the Edge (Along with Ruff & Tuff) admitting their friendship. Or Fishlegs and Hiccup on Gold Rush + Out of the Frying Pan run-in. Or Fishlegs with Heather getting close...only to leave AGAIN! (Gah I LOVE Heather but hate it that she's always leaving. *grr!*) Heather and Dagur's up n down sibling calamity. (This is the 1st time I actually can say I like Dagur now.) Snotlout & Hiccup too in "Not Lout" - Hiccup was so patient and understanding with him and I liked the ending parallel about their fathers. Also found it neat in Blindsided how the riders and dragons switched, haha! Oh and need I even have to say Hiccup and Astrid's relationship? Yeah, I'm pretty sure Hiccstrid officially died and went to heaven this time. Ahehehe! ;)

All the eps were so darn good! Gosh IDK how to pick a favorite. Obviously Blindsided is waaay up there that emotional struggle and reliance Astrid went through with Hiccup was most intoxicating for FEELS - following into Shell Shocked parts 1&2. But Dire Straits was another one I REALLY LOVED!! Not only for that heavy Hiccup & Toothless moment that actually had me in tears for the first real time in RTTE (Gah when Toothless pushes his head to Hiccup's hand through the glass for the touch scene...I lost it, WHAAAA!!!). But also seeing the length Viggo went to get at Hiccup by crippling Berk/the innocent. How Hiccup's prior actions with the gold cost Berk dearly, and seeing him sorta rise to his chiefly duty and taking responsibility from that. Then he goes and invents diving gear? Who knew? Unusual but extremely cool!! The Submaripper was a terrifying addition to the tidal class I found incredibly dangerous and impressive with his water vortex ability too. And Hiccup nearly died -again for all of them! The FEELS when they pulled him out and that entire scene just WOW! Such a good ep tying all that together IMO.

Oooo and Midnight Scrum was another winner! Man the abuse Hiccup went through in that ep too was one wild rollercoaster! I felt the wind knocked out of me when he got punched! ouch And OMG, that moment when he untied his peg leg to let that guy fall as he's yelling for help? Just WHOA. That was a MAJOR change in Hiccup's character, He's always been so selfless and yet he made that choice to let him fall and possibly die. O_O

My only fault with this season was the ending: It was so uncomfortably RUSHED! They should have made a couple extra minutes to address....you know what and whom. At least we have 2 more seasons where we hopefully will see this - along with the rest of Berk and Stoick's reaction to "Hiccstrid", and the Edge with the volcano, Mala/Throkk and her tribe with the baby Erupton (I guess I am spelling that right?) Maybe even Heather & Dagur and their search for their father? Who knows what DW will do but I'm excited!

PS: BUT Can we take a moment and appreciate the fact Hiccup wore 3 outfits this time + how good he matches Toothless in black, haha? I've secretly wanted to see that!
