I like my older Powerex Z-Free 430 cm SDM mast! The only problem ... fiber glass and / or carbon fiber were sticking out and scratching my hands and sail. Sometimes I even got splinters. I thought this mast has to be coated. I was thinking of using resin epoxy but I wanted to keep the weight and project time low. Success!
This was easy and fast. If you have a mast like mine I recommend cleaning it with denatured alcohol and coating it with a strong clear paint, like enamel. I hope this video is helpful to you.
