While not self-propelled the advanced hybrid system integrates state-of-the-art super-capacitors while an EPA Tier 4-rated generator provides supplemental power.
Measuring Length: 243.80 feet by Beam of : 86.00 feet she has a Depth of : 16.00 feet.
The dredge's electric-driven grab dredging crane is a SKK-1600GE which has a boom length of 105 feet and a maximum hoisting load of 352,740 lbs.
The large maintenance bucket is a rated for 100 cubic yards with a 160 metric ton single-line capacity.
With air-conditioned accommodations and a full commercial galley she has 12 berths.
While the barge is advertised as having a 1,000 horsepower electric assistance tug on this day she was attended by Central Boat Rentals towing Vessel COLUMBIA.
Built 1982 at LOUIS G OTIS BOAT COMPANY in KROTZ SPRINGS, Louisiana.
Repowered 2019 with Mitsubishi diesel engines she is a twin screw towboat rated at 1,500 horsepower.
Measuring Length : 55.70 feet by Beam : 24.10 feet she has a Depth of : 9.20 feet.
Handling the spoils barge is La Carriers Transportation Service Towing Vessel KAREN KOBY
Built 2011 at Lockport Fabrication in Lockport, Louisiana.
Powered by Mitsubishi diesel engines she is a twin screw tug rated at 3,645 horsepower.
Measuring Overall Length : 94.10 feet by Beam : 29.00 feet with a Loaded Draft of : 7.00 feet and a
Height of : 43.00 feet.
Her towing equipment consists of a Smatco, double drum towing winch with 2,200 feet of 1.75 inch diameter towing wire on the primary drum and 1,900 feet of the same on the secondary drum.
The entire lashup was spotted working in the Houston Ship Channel off the San Jacinto Battleground just above the slip that was home to the USS TEXAS.
