Defense bought the DC-10 in 2004. The aim was to expand its strategic air transport capacity. The air force already had 2 KDC-10 tanker / transport aircraft, but the demand was far greater than the supply internationally. In the end, the completely overhauled and modernized DC-10 did not fly much. Shortly after the last modification program, the decision was made in 2011 to divest the aircraft. The expansion of air transport capacity will not be completed
