Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today on 6 December 2025. We begin today's video with newly formed sinkholes in Carletonville, North West Province, South Africa today. Heavy hailstorm at Boesmanskop and flooded roads in the Free State Province. The Orange River at Upington is in full flood mode. We spent the day at the 7s rugby in Cape Town. Fishermen at Blue Lagoon in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province. We stop to see the wild horses at Kaapschehoop. Go on a hike through the Tsitsikama Forest with Brom Africa. Also, we look over the beachfront in Durban and uMhlanga. A giraffe was next to the road on the H4-1 near Lower Sabie Rest Camp in Kruger National Park today. We will also show you several other locations across South Africa today.

The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows:
Today's weather across South Africa will be driven by a tropical surface trough interacting with a ridging high-pressure system, producing scattered thunderstorm activity throughout the interior regions with significant rainfall accumulations of 30 to 50 millimeters expected across Gauteng Province, the Highveld, eastern Free State Province, western KwaZulu-Natal Province, areas surrounding Lesotho, and the southern Drakensberg mountain range, while temperature conditions will vary considerably with warm to hot readings dominating most provinces though notably cooler conditions will prevail across portions of the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal Province. The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms across the Free State, southwestern North West, northeastern Northern Cape Province, northern interior of the Eastern Cape, western KwaZulu-Natal Province, and the Highveld and escarpment regions of Mpumalanga, where dangerous weather conditions including intense downpours capable of causing localized flooding on vulnerable roads, informal settlements, and low-lying bridges, excessive lightning strikes posing risks to people and animals, large volumes of small hail that may accumulate, and damaging winds strong enough to cause infrastructure damage are all anticipated, so residents in these areas should monitor conditions closely, avoid low-lying areas prone to flooding, secure loose outdoor items, and be prepared to take shelter quickly if threatening weather approaches.
