Gays & The “Age Gap” Problem

Alright, so let’s talk about something real for a second: age gaps in the gay community, and how some of the older gays prey on younger gays. Not all age gaps are bad seriously, some are healthy. But there are patterns we don’t always talk about, and younger gay men deserve to hear this.
When you’re new to the community, everything feels exciting. You’re finally getting attention you never had before. And a lot of that attention sometimes comes from older men who seem confident, experienced, and emotionally put together.
But here’s where it gets messy: some older gay men target younger gay men because they’re new. They will flatter you, call you mature for your age,make you feel special… and then slowly take control. They start telling you who to trust, what you should do, and they call it ‘protecting you.
And when you’re young, it’s easy to mistake that for love or guidance. But if someone is into you because you’re easier to influence, that’s not romantic that’s predatory.
This isn’t about attacking age-gap couples at all though. It’s about recognizing when the dynamic isn’t based on love, but on power. And once you see the signs, it’s a lot harder for someone to use them against you.
Every young gay boy deserves attention that feels safe, supportive, and real not attention that’s just there to control you.” I mean Let’s face it some older men out here are pedophiles.. But let’s unpack this & talk more about it.
