How to make marbled seals with gold foil accents

These are such fun seals to make and each one turns out totally unique! Here’s a few tips if you try making them on your own!

✨ Use a spoon and warmer. You’ll get the best marbling results when melting your wax in a spoon and warmer. Of course you can marble seals with a low-temp glue gun as well, but you just can’t quite get the same gorgeous effects.

✨ Know you can cut down sticks and beads to get more exact coloring. This is something that I’ve started doing recently. Instead of using whole beads I cut them in half or quarter them. This allows me to get the exact colors I want and works especially well with dark colors. Small amount of the darker colors goes a long way.

✨ If you want to create consistency across several marbled seals, write down a “recipe”. If you know that using once chunk of light blue and a bead of dark blue make the color result you want, then write it down and repeat it so you have several seals with the same color, but different marbling patterns.

✨ Make sure to keep your wax at a good temperature. I’ve noticed that when I melt sealing wax in the spoon it’s often too hot. Once all the wax is melted, I take it off of the warmer and just let it sit for a few minutes and then I pour. I’ve found that this helps reduce bubbles and allows the wax to be more billowy in texture instead of runny.

✨ When adding in foil accents, you have to work fast. I love the look of adding little flecks of gold foil to create a fun accent on the seals, if you try this remember to work fast! Have your foil ready and in the sizes you want to use, before you pour your wax.
