We will give an overview to Secure Firmware Updates Over the Air. Furthermore, we implemented an encryption for the existing SUIT example in RIOT. We will also run a demo during the talk.

Silvie Schmidt hat das Embedded Lab Vienna for IoT-Security (ELVIS Lab, https://elvis.science [elvis.science]) aufgebaut und leitet dieses heute. Ausserdem organisiert sie jedes Jahr Anfang Juni die IT-Security-Konferenz IT-S NOW! (https://its-now.science [its-now.science]). Sie ist am Forschungszentrum IT-Security sowie am Masterstudiengang IT-Security an der FH Campus Wien taetig. Seit April 2024 hat sie die von der Stadt Wien gefoerderten Stiftungsprofessur fuer IoT-Security inne.

Miguel Arcilla is a software engineer at Porsche Informatik GmbH and a graduate student at FH Campus Wien attending the master’s course in IT Security. His bachelor thesis focused on the encryption of an over-the-air firmware update with the SUIT procedure.
