If you’re tired of the stock ride quality and limited ground clearance on your Thor Vegas motorhome, this is the video you’ve been waiting for. In this episode, Jeremy from WeldTec Designs walks you through a full suspension and performance upgrade on a 2018 Thor Vegas that transforms the driving experience from frustrating to fantastic.

From the moment this coach rolled into the shop, it was clear it needed help. Stock, the Thor Vegas sits extremely low, making it prone to dragging and difficult to maneuver into driveways, gas stations, or off-grid campsites. WeldTec Designs changed all that with a custom 6-inch suspension lift designed specifically to handle the weight of the motorhome—unlike generic chassis setups offered from the factory.

In the rear, progressive leaf springs matched to the vehicle’s actual weight improve ride quality and eliminate the need for aftermarket sway bars. Paired with Fox 2.0 gas-pressured shocks, this upgrade gives the coach superior stability and comfort. Up front, WeldTec installed modified beams, extended radius arms to improve caster and tracking, heavy-duty coil springs for lift, and Fox shocks with a Fox steering stabilizer to tighten up highway handling.

But they didn’t stop at just suspension. This build includes 235/85R16 BFG tires for improved clearance and grip, blacked-out hub caps for a custom finish, and valve stem extensions to make airing up a breeze. Up front, a heavy-duty grill guard and radiator protection were added to safeguard the coach against road debris and wildlife—especially useful for long highway trips or off-grid excursions.

One of the biggest problems with the Thor Vegas is the lack of storage—and the fact that it doesn’t come with a spare tire. WeldTec tackled both issues by adding their “Backpack” rear tire mount and an additional storage box, giving you more room for gear, tools, or anything else that doesn’t belong inside the cabin.
