A heavy storm in the Kerch Strait caused serious damage to one tanker and sank a second one causing a significant oil spill.
The two tankers were carrying 200 metric tons (62,000 barrels) of oil products at the time, but it is unknown how much oil leaked.
The spill has the potential to be one of the largest environmental disasters to affect the region in recent years.
