A Spoonful of Sugar - From Disney’s Mary Poppins (Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer Organ Sounds - TOIAB)

One of my all-time favourite films, Mary Poppins never fails to lift the spirits and make the world feel good again. In this video, I am playing “A Spoonful of Sugar” on my Digital Allen ADC-4600 Theatre Organ but using the Midi in order to get the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer organ sounds – also known as Theatre Organ in a Box (TOIAB).

A Spoonful of Sugar was written by the legendary Sherman Brothers for the 1964 Disney classic Mary Poppins. The inspiration came when Robert Sherman’s young son told him he’d had his polio vaccine and didn’t mind at all because it was given on a sugar cube! The song became one of the film’s most beloved numbers, symbolising joy, kindness, and finding fun in everyday tasks.

Sit back, sing along, and enjoy a little Disney magic brought to life with that unmistakable theatre organ sparkle.
