1st grade Interactive Read Aloud

Interactive read aloud is the highest form of support that we can offer our students to hear how a proficient reader sounds while modeling places to stop and think aloud different skills we naturally do as readers.

If our students are lacking in retelling, do it some more during read aloud time. If our students are lacking with inference skills, incorporate some more during read aloud time.

We all know students are the most engaged when we read aloud to them- so incorporate many read alouds in many genres throughout the day- so they hear language all the time!
