Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary

Today we complete the sage of Metal Gear Solid by archiving Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots. This game was released on PlayStation 3 and was never remade or ported to a different system and so it can be seen as one of the rarest Metal Gear games today.
Chronologically this is the grand finale of the Metal Gear series and my personal favorite as I think this is Hideo Kojima's masterpiece. We play yet again as Solid Snake who has aged rapidly due to the side effects of FOXDIE. Conflicts have shifted towards the Middle East and South America and within these larger battles we are looking for our twin Liquid who has taken over the body of Revolver Ocelot. One reason why I love this game so much is because of the epic scale. There are often massive battles taking place between different factions and you are simply a single soldier trying to move through the battlefield. You can even side with the resistance and win over their favor. Gameplay is smooth and responsive and the weapons feel better than ever. The camouflage system has gotten reworked as well and overal this game just has brilliant pacing and jaw dropping scenes.
It feels like a loveletter from Kojima to the fans of Metal Gear Solid. Pretty much all loose ends get tied up and you have references and characters from all games that came before this. This game also pushes the PlayStation 3 to its limits as sometimes the framerate can dip pretty low due to all the action that is taking place. Its an emotional rollercoaster ride and will hit you in the feels or get your adrenaline pumping during some of the spectacular chase scenes.
I also love Metal Gear Solid 3 very much, but 4 is and probably will always be my favorite. It might not be as accessible as some of the other ones since there is so much lore and story that comes before it, but it felt so amazing to play this game once again after so many years. Many people actually consider Metal Gear Solid 5 to be the best game and though I like the gameplay of it, I don't think the story adds so much to the overal MGS arc.
Having now finished the original 4 games and archived them on the channel, I cannot wait to dive back in with the upcoming Metal Gear Delta remake! See you again, Snake!
