Today was finally the day for my first real long-range test flight with the Speedybee Mario 8 and an 8000mAh Li-Ion battery setup.
With my broken foot, just getting out to fly is complicated – but with the help of my spotter, I was able to head into the mountains for this adventure.
In this video you’ll see:
✅ O4 camera cage upgrade and why it improves the build
✅ Weight breakdown – total 1839 grams with GoPro Mini + Li-Ion packs
✅ Connection quality, OSD data & shaking issues (and how I plan to fix them)
✅ Flight efficiency and battery consumption with headwind & tailwind
✅ Final flight data: 5200mAh used at 11:48 min
📊 Flight target: 5.5–6 km ridge in front of the spot
⚡ Result: Safe return, ready for more!
This setup is heavy but powerful – and definitely ready for more. Next step: improving the tune, and then pushing the limits from a better spot.
