Restore Philips 22RH426 from December 1973 The veneer was lightly sanded four times from 80 to 150 grit, and then the front edges were sanded with 400 grit. The cabinets were thoroughly cleaned and treated five times with Pledge furniture oil from Johnsen, and the speakers were fitted with anti-slip feet.
The dust covers were original and still in very good condition, so nothing was done to them. I reattached both bass speaker contacts and checked the inside of the speakers.
I cut the old speaker cable, fed the clean section through, and installed a DIN 2 female connector. Everything took three full afternoons, and I'm very satisfied with the end result.
