Special remarks were delivered by Kyung-wha Kang, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, and Mollie Marcoux Samaan, 9th Commissioner of the LPGA. As the first Asian woman to take on the role of President & CEO of Asia Society, Minister Kang shared her optimism for peaceful, collaborative relationships between the United States and all of Asia. Ladies Professional Golf Association Commissioner Samaan spoke to the impressive influence of South Korea not only in professional golf but at every level of the game, and expressed her congratulations to the two Van Fleet Awardees.
