Tuesday Group on August 19, 2025 put a spotlight on Northspan Group, Inc.
Amber Lewis, M.S., Consultant at Northspan, explored the transformative power of community-centered programming in Northeast Minnesota. This presentation will highlight Northspan’s Driving Access to Wealth and Networks (DAWN) initiative, with a special focus on its Welcoming Community efforts, including the Elected Leaders Learning Cohort and Inclusion Learning Cohorts.
Participants gained insight into Northspan’s broader economic and community development work through a lens of inclusion, belonging, and peacebuilding. Amber discussed elements used in Northspan's programming such as constructive dialogue tools and self-reflection, highlighting why they are important. Attendees left with a deeper understanding of Northspan's programming and a renewed motivation to foster welcoming, resilient communities.
Amber works as a consultant for Northspan Group, Inc., where she is focused on fostering a more Welcoming Community in northeast MN and supporting talent retention and community engagement in the region. She graduated with her master's degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University in 2020.
Amber is a member of the Fuse Leadership Council, serves as the Chair for the NAACP Economics Committee, is a certified facilitator for the national non-profit organization UR Action, and is a Co-chair of the Northern MN Braver Angels Alliance. Amber continues to find ways to strengthen her community while raising her own family of five children, in partnership with her husband David.
