Halloween Trains at Greenfield Village 10-12-24

Information: Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Halloween nights video! Edison and torch ran super good on Saturday! We got some amazing shots of edison and torch in a cloudy and sunny day! There is also a shot when a lighting strike happened. Edison and torch have a few more weeks of operation and then the Train season at greenfield village is over. The 95th anniversary video of the village will be out in November. Idk a date but it will be out in November. 7 is getting ready for the 2025 season right now. There will be a break after the last Halloween nights video then we go straight to chase 1225. My first day to chase is November 23rd for the 10 AM train. More information soon!

Information about Torch Lake and Edison:

Edison is based on an 0-4-0 switcher locomotive built about 1870 by Manchester Locomotive Works. Henry Ford purchased the switcher from Edison Portland Cement Company in 1932. Mr. Ford had the locomotive rebuilt into a 4-4-0 wheel arrangement by staff at Ford Motor Company's Rouge locomotive shop. Edison later went into regular service on Greenfield Village's railroad.

Torch Lake, built by Mason Machine Works in 1873, hauled ore for the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company on Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. The engine is an articulated design. The driving wheels pivot under the boiler, allowing the locomotive to handle sharp curves. Torch Lake joined The Henry Ford's collection in 1969.
