Sadly, India has become the diabetes capital of the world. And since the life span of Indians have increased tremendously, we have more and more patients admitted to hospital with various diseases in addition to diabetes. Some of these patients may not be in a position to take oral antidiabetic drugs and had to be put on insulin. Treatment for diabetes becomes more difficult in patients in the intensive care especially when they are unconscious and on organ support. Dr.M.Ravikiran is a well-known endocrinologist and diabetologist of Chennai and has immense experience in managing in-hospital patients with diabetes. In this video he shares his experience in this area.
