After a 15hrs road trip from the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, we made it back to Kampala, the Capital of Uganda. We have a full day to explore this city before leaving the Pearl of Africa but you know us, we'll make the most of it!

The day started at the Gaddafi Mosque, the largest and most beautiful one in East Africa. From the architecture to the stunning views of Kampala from the top of the minaret, it is truly worth your time.

From there, we drove to the Nakasero Market which is definitely the place to experience the hustle and bustle and the true energy of the streets of Kampala. This authentic African market specializes in fruits and vegetable and is one of the largest market in Kampala.

Uganda is a very multi-cultural country so it was only fitting to go visit the Basilica of the Uganda Martyrs after touring a mosque in the morning. This Basilica has a very unique design in addition to several sculptures commemorating the martyrs.

And because we were not going to be leaving Uganda without trying some authentic dish, we headed to Salvin, a nice local restaurant where they serve everything from smoked fish, beef, ugali, matoke and more. It was a delicious meal and also very different to all the street food we have tried during our trip around Uganda.

Finally, we drove back to Entebbe where we stopped for a quick drink by Lake Victoria before driving back to the Airport and saying a final goodbye to our guide which was truly amazing!
