Pavones is a quiet town on the Gulfo Dulce about a one hour drive from Golfito. It is directly across the bay from the Osa Peninsula which features some of the best surf in southern Costa Rica including: playa matapalo, pan dulce, backwash bay and Carate. There are numerous other surf spots within a 20 minute drive of pavones including pilon, playa zacundo, punto banco, Saleas, Amarillas, Las Gemelas, El Higo, and Chucuaco. We visited a lot of incredible surf spots on this trip including Chicama, Peru, Montanitas Ecuador, Bocas Del Toro Panama, Peurto Escondido Mexico and Cabo San Lucas.
