Engineers first survey the river and select the safest construction points. Cofferdams are installed to block water, allowing the riverbed to be excavated. Deep foundations are poured to support massive bridge piers. Precast beams are lifted and placed using heavy cranes, forming the bridge structure. The deck is poured, finished, and cured before safety barriers and road layers are added. After load testing and inspections, cofferdams are removed, the river flows freely again, and the completed bridge opens for traffic.
