When we were born, we did not come with a manual for life. No manual for how to be a child, a teen, a partner, a mother, a father. No manual for how to face difficult moments in life. The prince Siddhartha 2,600 years ago searched for such a manual, and when he found it within, he passed it on primarily through the teachings on the four noble truths.
When we suffer, we are able to go deeper. That is what makes the suffering noble. When we cry healing tears, we touch humanity. The second truth is discovering how are we feeding our suffering. In the third truth, we touch the cessation of suffering, and the fourth noble truth is in fact the noble eightfold path - eight concrete, inter-connected ways to transform suffering and cultivate happiness.
