Back & Forth - Forth is dead [5b]

I know this is a controversial subject. And I can't remember a time it wasn't.
But I'm afraid we're about to lose an important skill, Forth's hidden force, by trying to make things simpler - maybe even in an attempt to attract a new generation of Forth programmers.

I have personally experienced the elegance of a well-written Forth program. And as I will demonstrate, you'll lose all that by adding local variables. Because - why go looking for a better solution when the job is done? There is no incentive to do that!

And that is a way of working that will become extinct the moment this paradigm becomes generally accepted. And I don't want to see that happen..

Forth is more than just a bare bones integer C.
