The Hornby Class 66 in the new Royal Scotsman livery (R3950a) is a DCC ready model based on an old Lima tooling. It doesn't come with lighting so I thought I'd give it an upgrade by fitting the Illuminated Models (@illuminatedmodels5262) LED lighting kit and adding an old TTS sound decoder.
I really like the kit, it's actually pretty easy to install and it makes a huge difference to the model. Check their kits out at www.illuminatedmodels.co.uk
Having done this once I think I could do a much better job next time around. The key thing is to get the holes perfectly central and I think clamping the model and using a slow speed powered drill would be better for this (also not working around a camera).
