While in Midtown Manhattan this afternoon, I made the obligatory stop at Steinway Hall. While I was there, I was able to record a couple of short tunes. Here is Hazel Scott playing “Taking a Chance on Love” in 1943. The piano is a brand new Steinway B (6’11”) in figured sycamore. It has the Spirio | r player system.
