Reducing Fruit Damage with DIY Apple Codling Moth Traps

This recipe is so easy, and with other control measures, I'm hoping for less wormy apples this fall.

What I did:
1 quart cheap apple juice (in a 2 quart bottle)
Add 1/2 cup molasses and 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. Then add enough water to fill. Shake until molasses is dissolved.
Fill aluminum soda can traps with solution and tie several in each apple tree. Check weekly. Dump and refill as needed throughout the season. Look SPECIFICALLY to see if you are trapping the actual codling moth, and not just random insects. It will give you some idea of how bad your pest pressure is.
