Port Sunlight is a delightful community founded by the “Soap King” W. H. Lever in 1888. The village is surrounded by beautiful parklands and has all the charm of a Victorian village. Lever needed housing for his 10,000 employees and created a safe and unique opportunity for his employees. He built housing for them and even today some are still occupied by descendants of the workers or their families.
