A detailed run through on how we put together our outdoor guinea pig cage with a bottom level run. We built this so it would be easy to clean and hopefully be able to be used for most of the year.
Do NOT build hay feeders on either side like I did. On one side, the area is covered completely and isn't an issue, but on the other side I did a small area that they could eat hay through. This could be dangerous for them if they get stuck, similar to how wire hay feeders that you buy at the store can be dangerous. I removed the end pieces and I'm considering how I'd like to fix the ends so they aren't accessible to the guinea pigs- but I'd like to keep the space usable... either for insulation or storage.
