Installing the distributor in a Porsche 1969 911T engine. This is the culmination of our build series, with the first startup of this engine!. Yes, we have some more detailed lessons to do on the carb setting and the distributor settings.
We get the Marelli ignition distributor into the engine and ready to start. We did the rebuild on this Marelli already, check out that video here.

Putting on the ignition wires can look nice if you follow along with the wire paths we take. Connection to the spark plugs and the ignition cap is ultra-important, please double-check your connections.
The first start-up is an exciting time, we run through a few other checks, more than just the ignition timing. So, it is a combination of things to tune up the engine. We jump the carburetor part, but the timing comes first. We have continued and tuned the carbs, video to follow soon, and then we can show you the full-timing setup. Timing is a thing you must set at 6000 RPMs. Keep an eye out for our next timing video.
