This video shows how to make a sealed downpipe system or also called a wet system to a 2,000 litre tank using pipes with a diameter of 90mm. in this video we connect 2 downpipes to cover a roof area of approx. 70sqm.
For rainwater harvesting systems which
cover a larger roof area or with more downpipes connected it is recommended to use 100mm diameter pipes. 100mm diameter pipes are also recommended if you connect to a larger rainwater tank because those tanks are designed to be connected to a 100mm pipe.
The sealed downpipe system in this video is designed for the rainfall in Victoria, Australia. With the given annual rainfall in Victoria and the plan to only connect 2 downpipes to a 2,000litre tank we decided to use 90mm diameter pipes.
