City of Heroes 2019 - Ep. 3 - Making Millions in In-Game Money

Now that we've got a character who seems to be able to handle himself on a team, its time to start making some cash to keep him flush in Enhancements.

There are a lot of ways to make money in City of Heroes, but the way I'm going to show you is pretty quick and painless. It involves getting Reward Merits, converting them into Enhancement Converters, and using those to create and convert cheap IOs (Invented Origin Enhancements) into much more valuable IOs.

(NOTE: Early on, I talk about finding Badges in Atlas Park. The Badges I'm referring to are Exploration Badges. You get 5 Reward Merits for finding the 8 Exploration Badges in Atlas Park. You also get another 5 Reward Merits for finding all the Exploration Badges in Kings Row!)

In this episode, I'll show you the location of all 8 Exploration Badges in AP, demonstrate how to use the /loc command to find them, how to convert Reward Merits into Enhancement Converters, how to sell some of these to start a cash nest-egg, and how to craft, evaluate, and convert low-budget IOs into IOs worth millions.

In reality, if you have 5 to 6 million in in-game cash, you can keep your character full of up-to-date "regular" enhancements most of the way up to endgame. Using this method gives you a fast start and allows you to start accumulating wealth for characters who you really like playing, and would like to get the most out of once they hit max level 50.

Does someone really need to accumulate a billion in Influence in CoH? Of course not. However, this is a sandbox MMO, so if playing the market and making pixel money is your thing, then go for it! In the meantime, you'll be crafting/creating/selling a lot of valuable IOs that other players could really use, so you're actually performing a service for the rest of us. Thanks!
