What would it be like to escape a cold, snowy Indiana winter for just one day at Disney World? In January, of 2024 I did just that! I found a $30 plane ticket and flew from Indiana to Florida: no hotel, no vacation time, just a single-day trip to Disney World to relive memories from my childhood. Was I ever in store for an adventure!
I first visited Disney World in the 1970s, when I was six years old, traveling with my family, and this journey was about seeing those places again through adult eyes. Despite rough travel conditions, I arrived in Florida, took off my winter coat, and stepped into a warmer world filled with nostalgia. My main objective: revisiting the Country Bear Jamboree, before they changed it forever.
That same night, I flew back home and slept in my own bed. In one day, I revisited my childhood, but I also learned an important truth: you can return to the places you remember, but you can’t truly go back in time.
This video documents a one-day Disney World trip, a bargain basement flight experiment, and a personal journey through memories, nostalgia, and change. Absolutely a day I’ll never forget!
