Republic Services of Fremont | Garbage Truck Compilation (2)

Here's another compilation of some Fremont trucks from my previous filming trip. Nic and Barna scheduled a time with myself and Jonathan to come down to Fremont on MLK Day to primarily try to film the remaining diesel trucks the yard has, and whatever else we came across.

The first truck Nic and Barna ran across was 2499 driven by Cesar, with me and Jonathan joining them almost immediately after. Being honest, even though it was a 2018 truck, it was a total POS. It seemed to have a bad proxy switch (the grabbers wouldn't open or close all the way, which in turn almost caused a few carts to be hoppered, which in turn wouldn't allow the arm to retract all the way), and a really spotty backup alarm that was cutting in and out. If you can hear closely it almost stalled out at a few stops too. The only redeeming factors were the engine fan being on, and how Cesar was operating it by combining controls, which isn't too common for Rapid Rail drivers up here.

We split off to try to find different trucks. Me and Jonathan found Chewy in 2483 alongside Kendel (I believe) in 1257. We hung out with Chewy for around 10 minutes before Nic and Barna told us that they found 2491 nearby. Chewy needed to catch up due to the downtime we created so we left him and headed over.

During filming of 2491, I saw Armando driving 2493. Since it'd been almost four years since I last saw him, I captured a quick clip of him collecting an almost pristine BFI Rehrig before I kept on filming 2491.

We found 2491 while Nic and Barna were filming him. This truck and its' sister unit (2490) both originated from Los Baños. At first glance it looked to just be any other WX64 Autoreach. That WAS until I approached it and I saw how god damn blown out the arm was lol. This arm had ZERO hydraulic cushioning whatsoever, so it was just slamming and throwing parts everywhere. It has the longest feature in this compilation since it was the most entertaining truck we came across. Hopefully I can come back and film more of it.
