This is the story of Euzkadi. The Basque National Team formed during the Spanish Civil War, exiled across Europe, and eventually landing in Mexico, where they somehow became title contenders in Liga MX's great uncle Liga Mayor.

This video traces their journey from propaganda tour to professional football side, their impact on Mexican football, and how Franco’s regime tried to stamp out the very idea of a Basque national team.

Along the way: they thumped Denmark, walked off against Spartak Moscow, ignored FIFA (and were ignored right back), had a gap year in Cuba and Argentina, and played on long after their government had fallen.
