Perfect days on Lake Garda for the OK Dinghy Worlds, which with its record 212 entries is enjoying ideal conditions: sunshine, warm temperatures and a steady southerly breeze between 12 and 16 knots. A real gift for September, when the Ora is usually weaker and shorter.
From tomorrow the finals with the Gold Fleet begin: every mistake will count, as the rules allow only one discard for the entire week.
Leading the standings is Britain’s Andrew Mills, delivering an impressive series with 5 wins and a second place (discarded). Just two points behind is the class legend and defending champion Nick Craig (today 3rd and 1st), followed by fellow Brit Charlie Cumbley in third, chased by Canada’s Baabii’O Flower, moving up thanks to a 3–2 today.
Also worth noting is the excellent performance of the top youth sailor, Luxembourg’s Gabriel Medeiros Königsfeld, currently 23rd overall.
The Championship is organized by Circolo Vela Arco on behalf of the Italian Sailing Federation, with the support of the partner Cerco casa in Trentino – Real Estate.
