Get Started with Grid Journaling: Essential Tips and Tricks to Keep it Simple | Mixed Media Art

I had a blast working on my new grid journal spread, using Payne's Gray and Magenta. For this spread, I used smaller squares, but I'll be honest, they made me think a bit too much. I love it when each square feels cohesive, yet unique to itself, and I found myself struggling not to be too repetitive.

Grid journaling always helps me find out what doesn't work as well for me just as much as discovering what does work. Plus, there's always that surprise element—sometimes what I think I won't like turns out to be something I really enjoy. My biggest tip is to trust your instincts and take your time.
