I wonder if the author of Kaminomi came up with the melody for this (and Memory of My First Love too) when he was writing the lyrics...

Can everybody hear this comfortably? I thought I could make this video louder by recording the MIDI at a higher volume, but that had no effect. If there's a problem, I'll just raise the velocity by 32 or something next time. Do you guys really care?

If you're having any troubles with this song, feel free to omit all the extraneous melodies. There's only one main melody, and the chords are relatively simple, so it's a transcription for all ages! It's relatively easy to play the individual hands of this song (with copiously liberal rolls), but synchronization is a real challenge that requires some practice.

This was supposed to be a fun, fast transcription of a fun, stupid song. But after I got a hold of an instrumental version, I just couldn't leave the transcription without all those submelodies! (Also, it stopped being fun after I realized the first section was in 3/4 and I had to completely redo everything.) They materialize as the winds at 0:07 (you can tell they exist from their absence at 0:11), the top piano voice at 0:07 (shifted slightly off-beat so that they're actually playable), the repeating motif at 0:27, the guitar at 1:03, and of course, the middle strings at 0:44. Surprisingly, they turned out to be rather simple; there's no cross-hand poppycock whatsoever!

So, yeah. I wasn't completely half-joking when I said last video that I'd be transcribing 6 songs from The World God Only Knows. I've been completely addicted to everything about it for the past week, after finding out that both the manga and anime have already ended! Normally, I would have already finished both by now, but I'm deliberately restraining myself. After this transcription, I'll let myself finish watching the second season; after another, I'll watch half of the final season; after another, I'll finish the rest of the final season; after another, I'll read the entire manga; and that makes five transcriptions!

I was going to transcribe Memory of My First Love because ~chihiro~, but there's way too many covers of that on YouTube already! I found out after finishing this transcription that Sperion actually already transcribed this song too. He captures most of the submelodies, but he gets to use voice plus piano (that's like, playing with three hands!). It feels so depressing when you realize that somebody has already done your work for you... So, the songs I'll transcribe will be completely new ones that nobody's played before! Currently listening to the entire OST, please wait warmly...
