Namdaemun's Food Market & Hairtail Fish Alley (남대문시장푸드마켓과 갈치골목) - 🇰🇷 SEOUL WALK

Come and walk around Namdaemun's food market area & the famous hairtail fish alley! Lots of delicious eye candy in this video!

Namdaemun Market is one of Seoul's most famous markets, and it is BIG. It has over 10,000 shops! All that shopping makes people hungry, and Namdaemun has a certain area that sells not only fresh produce, fish, cooking spices, and Korean red ginseng, but also delicious Korean soups, fried fish, pig's feet, dumplings, and much more!

One of the famous food alleys is the Hairtail Fish Alley (갈치골목). Hairtail is 갈치 (Galchi), and it's a long, silvery type of fish, which you'll see in this video. The restaurants in this series of alleys specialize in making 갈치조림 (Galchi jorim), which is a spicy hot stew made with the hairtail fish. Most of the boiling hot pots you see in the video are 갈치조림 (Galchi jorim).

To get here, take Seoul subway Line 4 to Hoehyeon Station, and go out Exit 5. Turn right, and walk straight. Maybe 2 or 3 blocks down, on your left hand side you'll see the food market, and further down you'll see the entrance to the hairtail fish alley.
